Subtronics has released "Bird Phone," a new single out now on his own Cyclops Recordings imprint, EDM.com reported on August 14. The dubstep track opens with bird sample sounds before building to the heavy bass drops the producer is known for.
The song's artwork comes from longtime collaborator Aaron Brooks, and its bird sounds were provided by Samuel Henderson, a social media creator known for imitating around 50 bird species. "Bird Phone" had already been turning heads in Subtronics's live sets throughout the year, including his Coachella performances, before its official release.
The single follows Subtronics's recent tracks "Fall Back To Nothing" (with Saint Monet), "Eyes Cut Deeper" (with Inez) and "Word Scramble" (with Zeds Dead and Tape B). He heads into a busy end to 2026, with a b2b set with John Summit as SUBJOHNICS, a first collaboration with ILLENIUM at Ember Shores, a headline slot at the new Halloween festival HEX, and the return of his own Cyclops Cove event in December.
