Terri Clark sets a 17-song live album from her Ryman Auditorium debut

Terri Clark is releasing the night she waited most of her career for. Terri Clark: Live From The Ryman arrives on October 30, a 17 song album drawn from her first headline show at the Ryman Auditorium on August 29, 2024.

It was never meant to become a record. The album was pieced together from board tracks captured by her road technicians, which is why it runs from the first note to the final encore rather than being cut down to a highlights set. "Headlining a show at the legendary Ryman Auditorium has always been a lifelong dream of mine," Clark said, adding that the show found its way to a live recording without anyone intending it.

The setlist works through the hits, among them A Little Gasoline, Emotional Girl, I Just Wanna Be Mad, You're Easy On The Eyes and Girls Lie Too, and folds in medleys that push outside country entirely. One pairs I Wanna Do It All with All I Wanna Do and Ants Marching; another runs The Heart of Rock And Roll into Rock And Roll, Born To Run and Footloose.

Two guests close it out. Ashley McBryde joins for Better Things To Do, the song that launched Clark's career in 1995, and Trisha Yearwood takes the last song of the night with a duet on Poor, Poor Pitiful Me.

Clark has a busy autumn around the release. She joins Cody Johnson in September for select dates in the United States and Canada, plays her own headline shows through the fall, and performs at the Grand Ole Opry on October 29. The first 200 fans who buy the album in the Opry Shop that evening get into an Opry After Party with a performance and a conversation.

Live albums have become a way for established country artists to document a milestone rather than fill a contract, and this one is unusually literal about it: a career long ambition, played once, kept by accident. Other recent examples include Ghost pairing a live album with an IMAX film and Old Dominion's Nightfall At The Hall booking. Release dates sit on the release calendar.
