The Linda Lindas reveal forthcoming album "Gotta Get Out" on Jimmy Kimmel Live

The Linda Lindas returned to Jimmy Kimmel Live as the musical guest on Monday, performing "Burning Out" from their forthcoming album, Gotta Get Out, due out August 28 via Reprise/Warner Records, JamBase reported. Rosie O'Donnell guest hosted the episode, marking her first time behind a late-night desk since 2002, with Jimmy Kimmel on his summer break.

The 12-song album marks the first time all four members of the Los Angeles band wrote together in the same room, a shift from their earlier writing process. "Burning Out," released in June as the album's first single, captured a specific moment for band member Lucia de la Garza. "'Burning Out' felt so simultaneously new and nostalgic for us," she said, explaining that she had just graduated high school and felt surrounded by change.

De la Garza traced the song back to a week-long writing retreat in Palm Springs the band took less than a month after her graduation. "That's where we wrote this song about feeling like the world is passing you by," she said, adding that knowing her friends would scatter to different colleges kept her in a nostalgic headspace throughout the sessions.

Gotta Get Out follows the band's 2024 album No Obligation and will be supported by the band's most extensive headline tour yet, covering more than 25 North American cities between September 16 and November 5.

The album's arrival gives the record a short runway to reach fans before that fall tour begins, with the release tracked on the release calendar alongside the rest of this week's rock news.
