Twenty One Pilots ask fans at the All Points East festival for their own footage

Twenty One Pilots have asked fans attending their upcoming show at the All Points East festival to help capture the night on camera, NME reported. The duo play London's Victoria Park on August 30, their only UK show of the year and their first-ever appearance at the festival, with support from Wunderhorse, Nova Twins and more.

Their creative and content director, Mark C. Eshleman, asked fans on Instagram to help film the show, saying he wanted "to add something unique to toss in between a few of the songs during the edit." He said he is sending Hi-8 and MiniDV cameras to about 10 fans to capture their own fan experience alongside the concert itself.

He described the footage as vlog-style rather than scripted: "I am mostly interested in capturing what it feels like to be a fan," he wrote, suggesting fans could show off "some artwork, what your themed bedroom looks like, an outfit you are making for the show."

Auditions for the fan-filming project closed August 15, and producers plan to collect the cameras and footage from fans when they arrive at the festival grounds later this month.

The request follows a busy touring year for Twenty One Pilots. Earlier this year they released a concert film capturing a 65,000-capacity Mexico City show, and in July they headlined Madrid's Mad Cool festival in what NME called "a show that anyone can appreciate."

Most recently, the duo closed out Sziget Festival's second day with a White Stripes cover, a set NME described as "the latest in a long line of theatrical performances, with fireworks and pyrotechnics glittering across the stage." Jack White himself appeared via a pre-recorded video message, telling the crowd, "I'm Jack White and I give Tyler and Josh permission to do this," before the field sang along to "Seven Nation Army." The All Points East date now joins the rest of this year's rock festival dates on the festival tracker.
