untitled (halo) put out an easy rider video before their Dirty Hit debut album

untitled (halo) have shared a video for easy rider, another song lifted from the self-titled first album Dirty Hit releases on 6 November. The Los Angeles quartet is Ariana Mamnoon, Jack Dione, Jay Are and Nicholas Noneman, and the odd bracketed name has done them no harm at all in the two months since they started putting songs out.

Mamnoon placed the track for a press release as the closer for the record, the point where everything earlier in the sequence adds up. She describes it as a classic rock song built on strong simple guitar, ending in a jam with the whole band singing the same lines back at each other. That is a specific thing to aim for on a debut, and it tells you where the album ends up rather than where it starts.

The video carries no director credit in the announcement, and no track listing for the album has been published either, which leaves easy rider and the earlier singles as the only parts of the record anyone outside the band has heard. Under the Radar put the song in its twelve best of the week alongside Kevin Morby, Caroline Rose and Lael Neale.

The band spent the release week in Europe. They played Supersonic in Paris on 16 September, Tolhuistuin in Amsterdam on 17 September, Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg on 18 September and 8MM in Berlin on 20 September, which is a heavy four days for a group with no album out yet.

North America follows in November, after the record lands. The run opens at Kung Fu Necktie in Philadelphia on 11 November and takes in Metro Gallery in Baltimore, Baby's All Right in New York, Brick and Mortar in San Francisco and The Echo in Los Angeles on 24 November. Those are small rooms, and a first album on Dirty Hit tends not to leave a band in small rooms for long.

Both the album date and the shows sit on the release calendar. The music itself falls where most of the label's roster does, somewhere between indie guitar writing and a straighter kind of rock.
