Vanessa Bedoret announces the album "About Time" for October 30

Vanessa Bedoret has announced About Time, out October 30 through Scenic Route. It is the second album from the London-based French artist, following Eyes, which the same label released in 2024.

Her route to it was not a straight one. Bedoret began classical training at six and finished it at eighteen, then went into playing guitar and bass in punk bands before the dancefloor took hold. Traces of all three phases are still audible, and she has kept company with musicians who move across genre and medium the same way, among them Astrid Sonne and Space Afrika.

About Time is an eleven-track collection that shifts between vocal-led songs, glitching beats and longer compositional soundscapes, with moments of release worked in between them. The album follows a run of upheaval in her life, and it is arranged around phases of transition rather than around a single event.

The first single is "See, Saw", an electro-acoustic piece carried by a light falsetto over guitar and strings. Bedoret describes it as being about how differently we perceive the passing of time, with good moments vanishing and dull ones stretching out, and argues the slower stretches carry something worth learning from.

The title came before the lyrics did. She has said the seesaw idea, perception tipping between different experiences of time, only became clear to her after she had chosen the name and written the words.

About Time sits between rock instincts and indie electronics, close to the ground Space Afrika works, whose own single "From The Heart Of Knowing" landed earlier this year. The October 30 date is on the release calendar.
