Widespread Panic will see out 2026 in Charlotte, North Carolina, with two nights at Bojangles Coliseum on Wednesday 30 December and New Year's Eve. JamBase reports that tickets for both shows go on general sale this Friday, 25 September, at 10am ET, with single nights and two-day passes sold through Ticketmaster.
The booking closes a twelve-year gap. The band last played Charlotte in December 2014, splitting that year's turn of the calendar between The Fillmore on 30 December and the arena then trading as Time Warner Cable the following night. Bojangles Coliseum, a 1950s round-roofed room on the east side of the city, is a smaller and considerably older building than the downtown arena, and it puts the band back in a room rather than a bowl.
Both Charlotte dates are billed as a food drive event, which is a habit rather than a gesture for this band. Widespread Panic's year-end runs have collected for local food banks for decades, and the band's audience travels to them, which is part of why the collections work at all.
A Widespread Panic New Year's run is the fixed point in the group's touring year, and where it lands says something about how the band is routing itself. Recent years have leaned on long-standing residencies in the southeast, and this autumn the group is already booked for a Halloween stand in New Orleans. Charlotte is a short drive from their Athens, Georgia home ground, and it restores a market they had quietly dropped.
