Wisin has revealed that his viral "Perreo University" campaign, which reportedly got more than two million people to "enroll" over the past week, was building toward a new album. La Universidad del Perreo arrives September 4.

The Puerto Rican artist made the reveal in a video posted to his X account, walking through a mock classroom as the "dean" of the fictional institution. "The definitive study material is now ready," he says in the clip, just before the album title appears.

The video closes on a "Hall of Fame" wall bearing the names of reggaeton figures including Ivy Queen, Don Chezina, Jowell & Randy, Franco El Gorilla, Jory Boy, Trebol Clan and Kapo, suggesting possible involvement in the album or its surrounding project, though Wisin has not confirmed specific roles for any of them. "We called on the best in this field to bring you the original sound, the essence that started it all," he said in the video.

The album is only one piece of the larger Universidad del Perreo campaign, which Wisin says will also include courses, activities and other experiences meant to give reggaeton "the rigor and place of respect it deserves." San Juan, Miami, Bogota and Mexico City were named as the first cities tied to the project in a separate Instagram post.

Wisin opened pre-saves for the album via the link in his bio in an August 24 post announcing the campaign, ahead of the September 4 release. The rollout adds another high-concept Latin album campaign to a fall crowded with new releases tracked on the release calendar.
