Sara Williams has been promoted to head of music marketing at WME, where she now oversees the agency's entire music marketing team.
She remains based in Nashville and reports to Kirk Sommer, the agency's global head of music. Williams joined the music marketing department in 2019 and has led campaigns for a roster that spans country, rock and metal-adjacent acts, including Luke Combs, Duran Duran, Zach Bryan, Puscifer, Kane Brown, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Coheed and Cambria and Weezer.
Her route into the agency came through the live side rather than through a label. Before WME she ran the marketing department at AEG Presents Rocky Mountains in Denver, and started out in radio marketing and promotions. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Sommer said she had built relationships across the agency and brought fresh thinking to the touring side of its artists' business, calling her a natural fit to run the group. Williams said the roster made it an interesting time to expand what the department does.
The move follows a reshuffle. Levi Jackson, who previously oversaw the music marketing division, has shifted to WME's brand strategy team as VP, Music, reporting to group head Robbie Henchman.
WME has been active on the signing side as well, having recently added country singer Jaid Joice and the country rock trio DELTONA to its books.
