Yeat has released COCOON, seven tracks long and his eighth official EP, put out on 18 September while he is still on the road with the LOVE/LYFE Tour. Making a record on tour and shipping it mid-run is the working pattern he has built a career on.
It started smaller than it ended. He originally described the release as a five-song pack made while touring, then kept adding to it right up to release night, which is why the final count landed at seven rather than the number fans had been told to expect.
The track list runs earned it, in2that, miss my dawg, luh birk, holy water, cocoon and tennis, with the stylised spellings he uses on everything. At that length it reads as a quick addition to an already crowded catalogue rather than a statement record, and HotNewHipHop frames it that way too.
The surprise is on track three. Drake appears on miss my dawg, their fourth official collaboration after IDGAF, As We Speak and DOG HOUSE from 2025, and the one part of the release nobody had been trailed on. The site's five reviewers scored the EP 3.80 out of five.
COCOON follows ON NOTHING, which he put out earlier in the same month, and keeps the momentum from that release running rather than letting a gap open up. His willingness to release this freely has become part of the appeal rather than a dilution of it.
No label, producer credits or artwork details were published with the release. The EP is listed with the rest of the week's hip-hop output on the release calendar. Yeat has spent the year turning up on other people's records too, including when Young Thug put him on Eaters alongside Travis Scott and Future, and Drake has been back in the studio throughout.
