Judge cuts 17 claims but rapper 6ix9ine still faces 14 from Yailin

6ix9ine has won a partial dismissal in the Florida case brought by his former girlfriend Yailin la Mas Viral, and it leaves him with plenty still to answer. Judge Aileen Cannon threw out 17 claims, but Yailin had brought 31 within a larger 32-count lawsuit, so 14 remain live. AllHipHop's Grouchy Greg Watkins reported the ruling on August 27.

What survives is the heaviest part of the complaint. The remaining claims allege physical and sexual abuse, threats, holding her against her will, sharing explicit material, misusing her images and taking her valuables. Yailin also says the rapper, whose legal name is Daniel Hernandez, caused severe emotional harm through a pattern of control, humiliation and isolation during their relationship.

None of that has been proven, and Cannon was explicit that her ruling settles nothing on the merits. Dismissing 17 counts is a pleading decision, not a finding about who is telling the truth.

The case started on September 19, 2024, with allegations that 6ix9ine controlled Yailin's private life and her career earnings, and that money from a distribution deal, music video budgets and social media income was moved or spent without her permission. She soon asked Cannon for emergency relief over explicit material, and after hearing evidence the judge barred him from reposting one sexually explicit video and ordered him to take reasonable steps to stop it circulating further. Cannon declined to block two other videos at that stage and held off on the money question.

He has not simply denied the allegations. 6ix9ine filed counterclaims accusing Yailin of assault, theft and sharing an intimate image without consent, which means the case now runs in both directions.

Two of the surviving claims concern the use of images of Yailin and her daughter to promote his La Respuesta video and his wider brand. Seven more accuse him and Oscar Hernandez of taking her valuables or helping each other keep the property. He has until September 14, 2026 to answer all 14 in federal court.
