Adanowsky brings a two-persona concert to Buenos Aires on November 4

Adanowsky plays La Trastienda in Buenos Aires on November 4, in a show billed as Amador y El idolo: una esquizofrenia musical. The Argentine date puts two of the personas that run through his catalogue on the same stage and lets them argue.

The two names are records. El idolo and Amador sit at the centre of his discography, and the show is built to move between them rather than pick one. Amador turned fifteen recently, and the anniversary tour that marked it ran more than ten dates in Mexico before closing to a full room at the Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City.

Adanowsky is Adan Jodorowsky, son of the film director Alejandro Jodorowsky, and his career has crossed formats since it started. His albums include Etoile Eternelle, ADA, Adan and Xavi y Los Imanes, Esencia solar, The Fool and the recent Suenos ineditos, and he wrote the music for his father's films Poesia sin fin and La danza de la realidad.

The production work has been just as busy. He has won five Latin Grammys and two Grammys, and has worked with Natalia Lafourcade, Mon Laferte, Leon Larregui, Bandalos Chinos, Beck, Karen O, Devendra Banhart and Instituto Mexicano del Sonido. That range is part of why a show built around two contradictory stage selves reads as a natural structure rather than a gimmick.

Tickets are on sale through Passline, with a 25 percent discount for members of the Indie Hoy community. The date is filed under latin and indie, and it joins the rest of the schedule on the tour guide. Buenos Aires has been drawing a steady run of international bookings this season, including a New Order date at Mandarine Park in December and a Johnny Marr show on November 26.
