Alexisonfire book a Buenos Aires concert playing the album Crisis in full

Alexisonfire return to Argentina to mark twenty years of Crisis, the album that remains one of the pivots of their career. The Canadian band play Teatro Vorterix in Buenos Aires on Tuesday 17 November as part of their Performs Crisis in Full tour.

Tickets go to a fan presale on Thursday 3 September at 10am, with general sale from Friday 4 September at 10am through AllAccess. Members of the Comunidad Indie Hoy get a 20 percent discount on the general sale.

This is only the band's second visit to the country. As the tour name says, the draw is the whole of Crisis performed start to finish, after which the five-piece play a second segment pulled from across the rest of their catalogue.

Crisis came out in August 2006 as Alexisonfire's third studio album, and it was where the band's sound tightened. The production was rawer and more direct than what came before, aimed at getting some of the intensity of their live shows onto tape rather than smoothing it out.

The writing went somewhere darker too. The band have tied that shift to the experience of returning to Canada after long stretches touring the world, and the record's conceptual edges are heavier than anything on its predecessors.

The sleeve carried the same weather. It used photographs by Erno Rossi taken during the historic 1977 blizzard that hit the Niagara region, among them an image of a victim with frozen hands. The show joins a busy stretch of rock bookings in Buenos Aires alongside New Order's December date at Mandarine Park and American Football's return to the country, and it is logged on the tour guide.
