Blacc Sam, Nipsey Hussle's longtime collaborator and manager, said an unreleased joint album between Hussle and YG is in development, AllHipHop reported. Sam discussed the project on the Bootleg Kev Podcast as part of a larger documentary effort to showcase Hussle's full artistic journey.
The album, tentatively titled Two of America's Most Wanted, was in the works before Hussle's death in 2019 and was never completed, though the sessions produced some material. "I think that 'F##k Donald Trump' came from one of those sessions and they just ended up leaking it," Sam said. "From my knowledge not a lot of complete records have been finished but I know there probably are some verses."
Sam said the team has been searching through Hussle's archives and has turned up numerous unreleased tracks, verses and hooks, including a previously unheard collaboration with Jay-Z recorded for the Judas and the Black Messiah soundtrack, the first new Nipsey Hussle music released after his death. "I remember they were sending me the record when it had Jay on it," Sam said, "and then obviously I know Hussle always wanted to do something with Jay. So I was like man we got one for bro."
Sam also pointed to unreleased material from Hussle's work with producer Bino and with the All Money In crew, including Pac-Man, J Stone and Killer Twine. "It's verses that he put together," Sam said. "So, that's going to be uh a project, the All Money In project," indicating a full collaborative album is in the works too.
The unreleased music is expected to surface through a documentary about Hussle's life and career, currently in post-production and spanning eight to nine episodes with hundreds of hours of archival footage. Sam discussed the YG album on the same podcast appearance where he explained why Hussle had earlier turned down Rick Ross' MMG label offer. YG, for his part, has stayed busy too, releasing a video for "OMG" featuring Pusha T while announcing a new tour, part of a steady stream of posthumous hip-hop news for Hussle this year.
