Boston hardcore band Haywire set the album I Don't Wanna Say Goodbye for October 2

Haywire have announced their second full-length album, I Don't Wanna Say Goodbye, for October 2 through Roadrunner Records. The Boston hardcore band released the record's first single, "Interstate Love Affair," the same day, with a video directed by Luis Hernandez, SPIN reported.

The album was recorded over three months at studios in Leeds in the UK and in Toledo, Ohio. Mat Kerekes of Citizen produced it, and Taylor Young of the Pit Studio mixed it.

SPIN reported that the record carries appearances from members of Nothing and the Aggrolites, along with friends of the band.

It follows 2024's CONDITIONED FOR DEMOLITION and a stretch of releases that took in the FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE EP, the "Shirts Vs. Skins" split with No Guard, and the "New England Forever" split with Dropkick Murphys earlier this year.

Haywire formed in late 2023. SPIN, which has followed the band's rise and its connection to Dropkick Murphys, described their approach to hardcore as community-minded, with a steady stream of releases matched by a steadier touring schedule.

I Don't Wanna Say Goodbye is one of several punk records lining up for October: Fake Names have set their third album Punk Ruins for October 23. Both sit on the release calendar with the rest of the autumn's rock arrivals.

The band's live year runs on through the autumn regardless. They play US dates in September with Turnstile and Circle Jerks, and are booked for Louder Than Life, Riot Fest, CBGB Fest, Aftershock, Furnace Fest and Sick New World, among other festivals.
