Dua Lipa and Tame Impala reported in talks for the Coachella 2027 festival

SZA is said to lead for a remaining top slot, with BTS, Oasis and Radiohead chased.

Dua Lipa Tame Impala Fred Again.. SZA

Dua Lipa and Tame Impala are being lined up to headline Coachella 2027, according to a report from the industry publication Hits Daily Double, with Fred Again.. said to be in contention for the "Returning to the Desert" position that sits separately at the bottom of the festival poster.

A further top-billed slot is reportedly still open. BTS, SZA, Oasis and Radiohead are all said to be in the frame for it, with the report placing SZA as considerably more likely than either of the two British bands. Miley Cyrus was reportedly approached and turned the offer down.

None of this is confirmed. Coachella has not commented on the speculation and no acts have been officially announced for the 2027 edition, which is the usual position in early September for a festival that announces in January.

If it holds, it would be Dua Lipa's first Coachella appearance. Her most recent album remains 2024's Radical Optimism, much of it produced by Tame Impala's Kevin Parker, and the two have kept performing together since, including at London's O2 in May for their collaboration "Houdini."

Tame Impala have played the festival four times, first in 2011, then 2013 and 2015, before headlining in 2019 ahead of The Slow Rush. Their latest record, Deadbeat, arrived in October 2025 and pushed further into dance music, and the band return to UK and European arenas with Wet Leg in May and June 2027, shortly after the proposed Coachella weekends.

Fred Again.. last appeared in 2023, closing the second weekend with Skrillex and Four Tet after Frank Ocean withdrew through injury, a set added at the last minute that became the most talked-about thing at the festival that year.

Of the acts chased for the open slot, BTS will be near the end of their 2026 and 2027 world tour, which is due to finish in Manila on March 14, less than a month before the festival. SZA last appeared in April, joining Justin Bieber's headline set for "Snooze." Oasis have been widely tipped to return to the road in 2027 after the Live '25 run.

For now it stays a report rather than a lineup. The 2027 edition is tracked on the festival tracker, and the names in the frame cover the pop, electronic and rock ends of the bill at once.
