Fontaines D.C. confirmed a UK and European tour of 20 dates across 14 countries on 28 August, timed to land in the middle of a festival weekend that had them headlining three of the biggest bills in Britain and Ireland in three days.

They played Reading on the Friday, Leeds on the Saturday and Electric Picnic in County Laois on the Sunday. At Leeds they debuted a new song from the coming album, Happy For You, which opens slowly and ominously and takes most of its length to build before it finally lets go. Footage came from the crowd rather than a broadcast.

The tour opens in Lisbon on 21 October, five days after Dopamine Chamber arrives on XL Recordings, and works east and north through Madrid, Barcelona, Bologna, Belgrade, Prague, Lodz, Berlin, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Antwerp and Paris.

The UK leg is six arena shows in eight days: Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena on 20 November, Manchester's AO Arena on the 21st, Glasgow's OVO Hydro on the 22nd, Leeds First Direct Arena on the 24th, Birmingham's Utilita Arena on the 25th and The O2 in London on the 27th. It is the largest headline run the band have attempted.

Tickets went to general sale at 10am BST on 3 September, with a presale from 10am on 1 September for anyone who pre-ordered Dopamine Chamber from the band's official store by 6pm on 31 August. Irish fans were told to expect their own news, which arrived days later in the form of two Slane Castle shows.

The band file under rock and indie, the run is logged on the tour guide, and the full route sits alongside the arena tour announcement and the album reveal for Dopamine Chamber.
