Garth Brooks adds Chicago and Washington DC to his Blame It All On My Roots tour

Garth Brooks named Chicago as the third stop on his "Blame It All On My Roots" run, MusicRow reported on August 3, with back to back shows September 11 and 12 at Allstate Arena, where he holds the record for most performances at the venue. General on sale for those dates began August 7.

Demand pushed Brooks to add a fourth Chicago show almost immediately. Taste of Country reported on August 7 that he moved his Chicago run to open a day earlier, on September 10, and added a matinee on September 13, after most tickets for his Indianapolis and Denver shows sold out or thinned to single seats. Brooks announced the extra date himself on Facebook, citing demand.

Washington D.C. became the tour's fourth city on August 12, with two shows announced at Capital One Arena on September 18 and 19, Taste of Country and MusicRow both reported that day. Every ticket across the tour is priced at $155, sold through Ticketmaster with no presales. Washington D.C. carries its own history for Brooks: he played the city on his 1990s Garth Brooks World Tour, and later returned to receive the RIAA's first ever Artist of a Lifetime Award, recognizing him as the only artist with 10 Diamond certified albums.

The tour opens August 20 with a four night stand in Indianapolis at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, before moving to Denver's Ball Arena September 4 to 6. Brooks is recording the shows for a new live album project called "Killer Live," continuing a tradition that began with his 1990s live album "Double Live."
