Henry Coke dates his first album Let It Set Us Alight to 30 October

Henry Coke has dated his first album, Let It Set Us Alight, to 30 October 2026. Clash reported the announcement on 19 August. The London songwriter had been building an audience quietly, and a recent packed-out show at the George Tavern was the point, in Clash's telling, at which something started happening.

The record came out of home sessions at a student house in Lewisham. The announcement names no studio and no producer, and it runs to eleven tracks.

Coke says the album is about losing his religion, or at least the version of it he was raised inside. "It details losing the faith that has also been the bedrock of my entire life," he said, and described the record as him working out where he stands.

The single Regret (You Make Me) works the same ground from a narrower angle. Coke said it speaks to having stood for something in the past you no longer connect with, whether a friendship or a belief, and to the conflict between the time that feels wasted and what might have come from committing harder.

The tracklist keeps circling the same subject. It opens with Ode To A God and runs through Out Of Time, I Want To Feel It In My Heart, Regret (You Make Me), If It Means It's Grief, Hold On, Give In, More Than One, Lost In The Fire, Come To Me, Lord Run Away, I'm Coming and Let It.

The date is listed in the release calendar for 30 October. Two other indie first records dated for the autumn are PISS's you made me / skin on linen and Post Common's self-titled EP.

Coke's own summary of the album is shorter than any of that. "It's about finding peace in the chaos," he said, and said the music is built around his own questioning.
