You Are An Angel shares two outtake songs from It's Fine To Dream

You Are An Angel has released two songs held back from the sessions that produced It's Fine To Dream, the debut album J McClendon made under that name earlier in 2026. They are called Candyglass and Baroque, and Stereogum, which wrote them up on Monday afternoon, puts the release over the weekend before without naming the day.

McClendon came to this from Glass Beach, the emo band she fronted and which Stereogum has described as hyper-online, a word that fits a group whose audience grew through forums and clips rather than radio. You Are An Angel is the name she took when that chapter ended and she began releasing music on her own terms.

Outtakes are usually a sign that an album was cut down rather than stretched out, and two of them arriving months after the record suggests It's Fine To Dream had more material behind it than the running order used. Releasing them separately, rather than bolting them onto a deluxe edition, keeps them as songs in their own right.

Neither track has been attached to a further release. There is no EP named, no second album announced and no tour tied to them in the report, which leaves the pair as a postscript to the debut rather than the opening of anything new.

Any follow-up will show up on the release calendar alongside the rest of the autumn indie and rock schedule, a run that this month has taken in Porch Light's first album and DIIV naming their fifth record ZIRP!. For now the two songs are the whole of the news.
