Jorja Smith releases new single "I Lied, You Lied" ahead of her album What Are The Odds

Jorja Smith released "I Lied, You Lied" on August 18, the third single from her upcoming album What Are The Odds, due out this Friday, August 21. Producer P2J returns on the track, co-producing with Marco Bernardis over an electronic groove built on bass, percussion and saxophone, while Smith, who co-wrote the song, confronts an ex directly across both verses: "Been back and forth for three whole weeks / The highs aren't high enough for me."

The single follows "What's Done Is Done" and "Alive," her collaboration with Wizkid, both drawn from the same album. Smith is about to release What Are The Odds this week, and "I Lied, You Lied" keeps the same run of pre-release singles going into its final days.

The song's video was filmed in Mexico City, where Smith recently opened for Harry Styles during a six-night run of his Together, Together tour. Director EphoExecutive follows Smith through a breakup narrative, from writing "BYE" in lipstick on a mirror to pawning a necklace and driving through the city with a friend, closing on a note of release rather than heartbreak.

Smith's year has been a busy stretch beyond the album rollout too. She was also just announced as one of the first headliners of a new Spotify concert series returning artists to the towns where they started out, with her own date set for Walsall next month.

What Are The Odds is Smith's third studio album, and its release this Friday will complete the run of singles that "I Lied, You Lied" was the latest entry in. No further details on the album's full tracklist beyond the songs already shared have been made public.
