Six years after Mark Ronson produced their version of it, the two finally performed the duet on the same stage.

Kacey Musgraves and Troye Sivan performed "Easy" together on stage for the first time this week, six years after they recorded it.

The song started as Sivan's alone. He released the original version on In A Dream, the EP he put out in 2020, where it sat as one of the record's quieter turns rather than an obvious single.

Later that same year the two of them released a revamped version of it, produced by Mark Ronson. That recording is the one most listeners know, and it turned a solo song into a duet without either voice crowding the other.

The friendship behind it predates the collaboration. Musgraves and Sivan had already sung together on her Amazon Prime Christmas special in 2019, so the pairing was familiar long before the song existed in this form.

What had never happened was the two of them playing "Easy" on the same stage. The recording had six years of streaming behind it before the live version existed at all, which is a long gap even by the standards of a collaboration made across studios.

Both artists have been busy elsewhere this year. Sivan announced his fourth album, She's The Best, while Musgraves cancelled three Middle of Nowhere tour dates without explanation. The performance sits across country and pop audiences the way the recording always has, and the tour it landed in is tracked on the tour guide.
