Kanye West has reached a settlement with his former assistant, Lauren Pisciotta, who accused him of sexual assault, sex trafficking and wrongful termination, Rolling Stone reported. The settlement was reached July 23, according to court documents, and Pisciotta must file a dismissal request within 45 days. The financial terms have not been disclosed, and a representative for West did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Pisciotta's attorney, Arick Fudali, said only, "the matter has been resolved."
Pisciotta worked as West's assistant from 2021 to 2023 and first sued him in June 2024, alleging sexual harassment, breach of contract and wrongful termination. At the time, a representative for West called her allegations "baseless" and accused her of "blackmail and extortion," claiming she had demanded an unreasonable $4 million annual salary.
Over a year later, Pisciotta filed an amended lawsuit adding claims of stalking, sexual battery, sex trafficking and false imprisonment, alleging a pattern of unwanted contact and coercion. A further amendment four months after that added an allegation that West drugged and sexually assaulted her at a studio session organized by Sean "Diddy" Combs, tying her claims to the broader wave of allegations surrounding Combs' own recording sessions.
The settlement is one of several legal matters West has faced since his antisemitic remarks in fall 2022 triggered a wave of lawsuits from former Yeezy employees, teachers at his shuttered Donda Academy, and musicians in sampling disputes. In March, a jury found him liable in a case brought by a man injured during the gutting of West's $57 million Malibu mansion in 2021.
West, whose catalog sits within hip-hop, also faces a separate lawsuit alleging AI was used on two of his recent albums, part of a legal docket that has stayed active even as this particular case has closed.
