Kenny Chesney books a one-night Nashville concert for Silver Sands Marina

Tickets are ten dollars through a lottery, and a plaza takeover runs across the two days around the show.

Kenny Chesney is marking a new album with one show rather than a tour leg. He plays The Pinnacle in Nashville on 25 September, a pop-up release night for Silver Sands Marina, and he has been blunt that the scale is deliberate: probably not more than a couple of thousand tickets.

The pricing is the unusual part. Tickets are ten dollars through Fair AXS, with fans registering in advance for the chance to buy and selected entrants receiving a private purchase link tied to their AXS account. Registration ran through 9pm CT on 19 September.

Chesney explained the show as a step up from something smaller. He had been playing a little at TODAY, and said he figured they should keep going and make it bigger than a Keg in the Keys or Keg in the Closet show, the low-key formats he has used before.

What surrounds the concert is closer to a product launch than a gig. An activation in the Pinnacle plaza runs from 5pm to 10pm CT on 24 September and from noon to 10pm CT on 25 September, with life-size displays, photo opportunities, food trucks and bars, and it is open to people without a ticket to the show.

Physical copies of the album are on sale there, including signed vinyl and CDs along with special variants. Selling signed records at a plaza event on release weekend is a chart play as much as a fan event, because physical sales still count heavily in a first week.

Chesney said the new music took him back to when albums mattered and the songs spoke to each other, and that he hopes to play five, six or maybe seven of the eleven tracks. The date is on the tour guide, the album is on the release calendar, and more sits on our country hub.
