Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham says his rift with Stevie Nicks has healed

Lindsey Buckingham says his years-long rift with former Fleetwood Mac bandmate Stevie Nicks has finally healed, telling E! News "Stevie and I are talking all the time now," the Los Angeles Times reported.

Buckingham made the comment at Variety's Power of Young Hollywood event, where he also said 2027, the 50th anniversary of Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours," "should be a pretty interesting year ... because I think quite a few things will reveal themselves." He stopped short of confirming any tour or new collaboration.

Buckingham credited work on a forthcoming Apple TV documentary about Fleetwood Mac with repairing not just his relationship with Nicks but tensions across the band. "I think the process of making that has been a very circular healing process for all of us," he said, adding that the situation left in 2019 "has been healed and worked out."

Buckingham first joined rock institution Fleetwood Mac with then-girlfriend and bandmate Nicks in late 1974, left to pursue a solo career in 1987, and later rejoined. In early 2018, he was fired from the band after Nicks allegedly issued an ultimatum threatening to leave if he stayed; Buckingham sued for lost wages and settled the case later that year.

A full reunion has long seemed unlikely, especially since keyboardist Christine McVie's death in 2022. But Buckingham's latest comments follow last year's reissue of "Buckingham Nicks," his and Nicks' pre-Fleetwood Mac album, and MusicSuey has since reported that Buckingham has teased a 2027 collaboration with Nicks tied to the same documentary. He also recently turned up in the news over an unrelated case: a person accused of stalking him was ruled unfit to stand trial.
