Lindsey Buckingham teases a 2027 collaboration with Stevie Nicks

It follows their surprise reconciliation after last year's reissue of their 1973 album Buckingham Nicks.

Lindsey Buckingham has hinted at a new project with Stevie Nicks set for 2027, telling E! that "Stevie and I are talking all the time now" and that "next year should be a pretty interesting year, because I think quite a few things will reveal themselves," NME reported on August 8.

The tease follows a public reconciliation between the two: last year they reissued their 1973 album Buckingham Nicks, making it widely available for the first time since its original release, and Nicks said afterward that the two had started talking again, describing the moment as feeling like "yesterday to us."

Buckingham was fired from Fleetwood Mac in 2018; he later said it was "all Stevie's doing" and that she gave the band an ultimatum. Nicks disputed that, saying she "proactively removed myself from a situation I considered to be toxic to my well-being" rather than demanding he be fired. As recently as 2024, Nicks told Rolling Stone she had only spoken to Buckingham "for about three minutes" since Christine McVie's celebration of life.

Buckingham and Nicks first joined Fleetwood Mac together on New Year's Eve 1974, and both remained mainstays through multiple lineup changes; Nicks has said there is "no chance of putting Fleetwood Mac back together" without the late Christine McVie, though Buckingham has said he would rejoin the band "in a heartbeat" if the opportunity arose.

Next year also marks the 50th anniversary of Fleetwood Mac's 1977 album Rumours, and comes as an upcoming Fleetwood Mac documentary is also in the works, which Buckingham said has been part of "a very circular healing process for all of us."
