Oso Oso announce the album an exchange of information with a new song

Oso Oso have announced a sixth album, an exchange of information, and shared the song know you know me better ahead of it. The record arrives on 6 November and is the first release on Feral Twin, a new label started by Hop Along drummer Mark Quinlan.

That partnership shapes the project. Jade Lilitri, the New York songwriter behind Oso Oso, made the album in tandem with Quinlan's label rather than signing to an existing one, and the press description of a big sounding rock record suggests a deliberate move away from the more contained arrangements of his recent work.

Lilitri has been open about the problem of writing a sixth album under the same name. He said that by that point the earlier releases themselves become an influence, because the shape of the band is already established, and the question shifts to finding somewhere it has not been before.

That balance is audible on the lead single. know you know me better carries the dynamic emo and pop-punk instincts of Oso Oso's earlier records, with syncopated guitars building tension before a whining lead line gives way to an anthemic refrain, and Lilitri's delivery pushing harder than it has in a while.

The album follows 2024's Life Till Bones and runs to a tracklist that opens with 4 am redemption and takes in it's all bait, the nights, the facts, know you know me better, wind me up, everybody has their fun and she rides in the stars.

A North American tour supporting the record was already announced and starts on 7 October, with alternating support from Leisure Hour, Bad Luck, Liquid Mike and Bugsy. Pre-orders for an exchange of information are open now, and the release sits alongside the rest of the autumn's indie records on the release calendar.
