Phoebe Bridgers will play a run of intimate UK shows to mark the release of her third album, Lost Weekend, out via Dead Oceans on August 14, NME reported on August 12. The dates run from August 17 to 21 at Union Chapel in London, Circuit in Kingston, Chalk in Brighton and Electric in Bristol, with a matinee and an evening set at each venue lasting around 45 minutes.
The Union Chapel dates mark Bridgers's first solo show in London since 2022. Her evening at Chalk comes courtesy of Brighton's Resident Records, the independent record shop that recently hosted a surprise performance from Nick Cave. As with her other recent dates, no phones, smartwatches or other recording devices will be allowed inside the venues.
Lost Weekend follows 2020's Punisher and was previewed by the single "Lost Boys." Bridgers has released the album's full tracklist, which credits her Boygenius bandmates Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker along with Christian Lee Hutson and Jack Antonoff, plus an unidentified guest billed as "Son-John Johnson" that fans have guessed could be Geese frontman Cameron Winter.
Beyond the UK gigs, more than 300 midnight album release parties are planned worldwide for the night before the record lands, and Bridgers has also arranged for the full album to be played at planetariums around the world, each with its own phone-free listening session and visual display. Later this year she heads out on a full North American, UK and European tour behind Lost Weekend, with Alex G and Isaac Wood supporting on different legs.
Ahead of the album's release, Bridgers performed two different versions of "Lost Boys" on The Tonight Show, including a haunting acoustic rendition, and played her first solo live show in three years in Roswell, New Mexico, where she debuted three new songs. In NME's five-star review, critic Erica Campbell called Lost Weekend "the opposite of emotional evasion: more a reckoning with herself and the romantic and familial love and loss that have shaped her story."
