Pooh Shiesty puts out the song Last Man Breathin from behind bars

Pooh Shiesty released the song "Last Man Breathin'" on August 5 while still behind bars, XXL and HotNewHipHop reported, his first new music since his April arrest. The track previews a surprise album, All Eyes on Shiest, due two days later on August 7, tracked in the release calendar.

On the song, the Memphis hip-hop artist reflects on his situation from a cell: "I feel the walls getting closer, my release date slowly coming," he raps, "they gave the homie 75, he'll get out when we turn a 100." The hook leans into the same tension: "Been a rapper and a killer at the same time ain't easy," he raps, "gotta be the last muthaf**ka breathin'."

The new album is set to include guest appearances from Sexyy Red, Tay Keith, Big30 and others across a 16-song tracklist that includes cuts like "Federal Reality," "Reap What You Sow" and "JPay & CorrLinks," a nod to the prison communication service.

Pooh Shiesty has been held without bond since his April arrest on charges of robbing and kidnapping fellow rapper Gucci Mane and others at a Dallas recording studio in January. He, his father Big30 and six others face charges in the case; their trial is scheduled for February 2027.

The single arrived the same day Shiesty announced All Eyes on Shiest, and the full album followed on schedule two days later, eventually debuting in the Billboard 200's top 10 despite his incarceration. It marks his first full-length release since 2022's Shiesty Season: Certified.
