Pooh Shiesty releases his album All Eyes on Shiest while he sits in custody

Pooh Shiesty released his new album, All Eyes on Shiest, on August 7 while being held without bond, XXL reported, his first full-length project since 2022's Shiesty Season: Certified. The Memphis hip-hop artist delivered the 16-track set, tracked in the release calendar and including two bonus songs, just two days after previewing it with the single "Last Man Breathin'."

The album carries guest appearances from Big30, GloRilla, Sexyy Red and the late producer Tay Keith, along with K Carbon and Baby Slime, and arrived through Gucci Mane's 1017 Records, the same label Shiesty is accused of forcing Gucci Mane, at gunpoint, to release him from. XXL reported that federal prosecutors say Shiesty and eight others robbed and kidnapped multiple people, including Gucci Mane, at a Dallas recording studio on January 10, taking watches, jewelry and cash in addition to the coerced contract release.

The arrangement puzzled hip-hop commentators. On a livestream covered by HotNewHipHop, DJ Akademiks said Gucci Mane appeared to have authorized the release himself, calling it a complicated situation in which both artists stand to benefit: Shiesty gets income to help fund his legal defense, while Gucci Mane collects a cut as label head. "Money is money," Akademiks said of Gucci Mane's position.

Fans combing the tracklist found lines they read as references to the case, including "at first you said I was just talking, now all of a sudden you believe in me" on "Reap What You Sow," though HotNewHipHop noted the recording timeline makes it impossible to confirm which bars address the Gucci Mane situation directly and which are ordinary rap flexes. The album opens with an "entertainment purposes" disclaimer.

Shiesty also sent fans an audio message through the 1017-affiliated outlet No Jumper, his first public remarks since his arrest. "Ain't s**t changed but the environment," he said. "We got new music on the way... it's always how you get back up."

Despite mixed reviews of the full tracklist compared to its singles, the album resonated with core fans and later went on to debut in the Billboard 200's top 10, landing at number one on at least one chart while he remains in custody awaiting his February 2027 trial. It follows the single "Last Man Breathin'", released two days earlier.
