Quavo says a Migos album is nearly finished and points at a January anniversary

Quavo has given the clearest signal yet that a new Migos album exists in some finished-enough form, without confirming anything a label would put in a press release.

Speaking to Baller Alert, the rapper said the group are coming back with an album and that the work behind it is visible. "We almost ready to turn it in, too," he said, before pointing at a date: "The anniversary for Migos is January, so you might get something then."

That is a tease rather than an announcement. No title, release date or label has been given, and the anniversary line leaves room for a single, a reissue or a celebration of the group's catalogue rather than a new record. Quavo did rule one thing out, saying it will not be another installment in the Culture series, and he mentioned a tour behind the project.

The context is unavoidable. Takeoff was killed in 2022, and any return by the two surviving members is a record made in his absence and, by Quavo's framing, about his legacy. Quavo and Offset have also had a public falling out in the years since, which makes working footage of the two of them together its own kind of statement.

Quavo has his own release to get through first. QRÖMELIFE arrives on 2 October with Pharrell producing the entire project, trailed by the singles Trance (Walk It Down), Backwards with T.I., and HAAVIN. A full Pharrell production is a substantial commitment of studio time for a solo album released weeks before a group record is supposedly close to done.
