Breakaway Utah, an inaugural stop for the fast-expanding festival brand, debuts October 2-3 at America First Field in Salt Lake City, Dancing Astronaut reports. The bill runs more than 20 acts across three stages, headlined by John Summit, Chris Lake, Tiesto, a Kaskade sunset set and a first-ever Gorgon City b2b MPH pairing. Dancing Astronaut calls it the most house-forward lineup Breakaway has assembled all year, a deliberate contrast to the bass-heavy programming at several of the brand's other 2026 stops, including Breakaway Mass in Worcester.

Kaskade's sunset set is billed as the weekend's emotional center: two decades into a career that helped define American progressive and melodic house, the outlet calls a Kaskade set at golden hour in the mountains "the kind of scheduling that writes itself." Putting John Summit and Chris Lake on the same bill is described as a genuine flex, pairing Summit's Experts Only run with Lake's decade-long consistency as "two different but equally dominant approaches to the same genre."

The Gorgon City b2b MPH set marks a first pairing of the London duo's polished house sound with MPH's harder, UK-facing edge. Deeper into the bill, Max Styler, KASABLANCA, Jackie Hollander, Roddy Lima and Soraya carry the house and techno end, while Audien and Trivecta bring melodic mainstage energy and Frank Walker and Niiko x SWAE fill out the middle of the card.

Bass music is not absent, just outnumbered: Ray Volpe, HEYZ, HerShe and a LAYZ b2b TYNAN set give heavier fans somewhere to go across the weekend. Two-day GA, VIP, Ultimate VIP and Terrace passes are available now through the Breakaway website.

The Salt Lake City debut is part of a broader 2026 expansion for the electronic festival brand, and John Summit himself has stayed busy beyond it, dropping festival dates ahead of his CTRL ESCAPE arena tour. The full festival slate is tracked in the festival tracker.
