Weezer drops a video for "C.E.O." and reveals new tour dates

Weezer have released the video for "C.E.O.," the third single from their 20th studio album, Weezer (The Gold Album), due August 21 on Reprise/Warner Records, Under the Radar reported. The clip stars Tony Hawk, Curry Barker, Dax Flame, Chit (Jay Renshaw), Rob Riggle, Rob Huebel, Michael Pena, Giovanni Ribisi and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, directed by Brendan Walter and Jasper Graham.

The Gold Album marks the band's first full collaboration with producers Klas Ahlund and Kenneth Blume, formerly known as Kenny Beats, who said he set out to make "the most violent Weezer album ever." It is also the first time since Weezer's 1994 debut that Rivers Cuomo and drummer Pat Wilson have written a song together, and three-fourths of the band contributed songwriting to the record. The site first covered the same video's celebrity cast replacing the band on set when it surfaced on August 1.

The album follows two earlier singles: "Shine Again," shared in April, and "We Might As Well Be Strangers," a duet with Wednesday's Karly Hartzman released when the album was announced in June. Wednesday's own last album, Bleeds, came out in 2025.

Alongside the video, Weezer expanded its 2027 Gathering world tour with new dates across Japan and Europe, joining a North American arena run announced in March with support from the Shins and Silversun Pickups; the Los Angeles stop at Crypto.com Arena has already sold out. The Gold Album, tracked in the release calendar, is Weezer's first full-length since 2021's Van Weezer, which the band followed with four seasonal EPs in 2022.

The new rock album arrives two years after Weezer's 2024 Return to the Blue Planet tour, on which the band played its self-titled debut, The Blue Album, in full for its 30th anniversary, a nod to the "C.E.O." video's own callback to a Blue Album-era clip.
