Wild Pink, the indie rock project led by singer-songwriter John Ross, will release its new album, Still Coming Down, this Friday. Ross recorded the record in Asheville, North Carolina with producer Alex Farrar, and brought in a wide circle of collaborators for the sessions.
That circle includes guitarist MJ Lenderman and Hand Habits' Meg Duffy, along with several players connected to the Wednesday and Lenderman scene that has become one of the more talked-about corners of American indie rock over the past few years. The pairing places Wild Pink alongside a loose network of bands recording in and around Asheville.
Wild Pink will mark the release with a show at Cassette, a venue in Queens, New York, on the album's release day. Stereogum is helping present the concert, and the show sold out ahead of the release. Still Coming Down continues a run of consistently well-received records for Ross under the Wild Pink name, and its release lands alongside a busy week of new indie and rock albums tracked on the release calendar.
