The Miami rapper Milan Brewer, known as 1000Milan, has sued producer Axel Morgan, known as AXLFOLIE, demanding a jury settle a dispute over writing credit on Kendrick Lamar's 2012 track 'm.A.A.d city.' AllHipHop and HotNewHipHop reported the filing on August 13.
Brewer traces the disputed material to 'Ridin Rollercoaster,' a song he says he wrote and recorded in April 2012. According to the complaint, Morgan and producer Ricci Riera later folded Brewer's vocals and lyrics into the record that became 'm.A.A.d city,' featuring MC Eiht, without giving him the same recognition Morgan received. Current publishing credits for the song list Kendrick Lamar, Morgan, Riera and Mark 'Sounwave' Spears as composers; Brewer's name is not among them.
Brewer's attorneys say Morgan did not clearly reject the ownership claim until an April 2026 phone call involving an attorney for Riera, and a follow-up email included in the filing shows Brewer's side asking to see the existing royalty splits for the song. Brewer is seeking joint author credit and a full accounting of what he believes he is owed, and his suit, filed in federal court in Los Angeles, asks for a jury trial.
Kendrick Lamar and MC Eiht are not named as defendants; the suit accuses only Morgan of blocking the credit and payout. 'm.A.A.d city' remains a fixture on Kendrick's hip-hop album Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, which has spent a decade near the top of the Billboard charts, and Brewer's claim has not been proven. The dispute lands the same month producer Dahi announced a first album featuring both Kendrick Lamar and Childish Gambino, a reminder of how much new Kendrick-adjacent material is in motion even as this decade-old credit fight plays out.
AllHipHop's report lists the case number as 2:26-cv-08937. AXLFOLIE's own production website lists 'm.A.A.d city' among his platinum-certified credits alongside work for Drake and Nipsey Hussle, whose own posthumous album made news this same week.
