Ella Langley, Tucker Wetmore and Stella Lefty have all landed nominations for the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, MusicRow reported on August 18, 2026. The ceremony airs live from Los Angeles on September 27.
All three are nominated for Best Country: Langley for "Choosin' Texas," Wetmore for "Brunette" and Lefty for "Boston," alongside Kacey Musgraves' "Dry Spell," Lainey Wilson's "Somewhere Over Laredo," Luke Combs' "Back in the Saddle" and Shaboozey's "Cowgirl," whose video also picked up a Best Cinematography nod. Langley earned a second nomination for Song of the Year with "Choosin' Texas," Lefty is also up for Best New Artist, and Morgan Wallen, whose duet with Langley powers her own chart run elsewhere this week, is separately nominated for Artist of the Year.
Madonna leads this year's field with 11 total nominations, followed by Taylor Swift with nine and Ariana Grande and Sabrina Carpenter with seven each. Fan voting for the VMAs is open now ahead of the September ceremony.
The nominations mark a strong showing for country music at an awards show usually dominated by pop, with three separate country nominees landing on the same ballot as global pop stars in the top categories.
MusicSuey is tracking the rest of this year's VMA field on award watch, including Madonna's leading nomination haul and Langley's own chart-topping run the same week on MusicRow's Top Songwriter Chart.
