Ella Langley has taken "Choosin' Texas" to a 20th week atop the Billboard Hot 100, the longest run any non-holiday song has managed on the chart. MusicRow reported the milestone on September 1.
The song passes Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" and Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road", both of which stalled at 19 weeks. Only Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" sits ahead of it, and that total of 22 weeks has been assembled a few weeks at a time across every holiday season since it first reached No. 1 in 2019.
"Choosin' Texas" comes from Dandelion, Langley's second album. She co-wrote it with Luke Dick, Miranda Lambert and Joybeth Taylor, and produced it with Lambert and Ben West.
The run is another marker in a fast few years for the Alabama singer, who has been a fixture at the top of the trade charts as well as the consumer ones.
Langley is currently on her sold-out Dandelion Tour through October, with dates still to come in New Jersey, West Virginia and Georgia.
The chart record adds to a busy stretch for her across country and pop coverage, including her extended No. 1 run on MusicRow's Top Songwriter Chart and the Jaded duet with Koe Wetzel.
