Foo Fighters, joined by Queens of the Stone Age, opened the Take Cover Tour, their joint 2026 North American stadium run, at Toronto's Rogers Stadium on August 4, NME reported on August 6. Mannequin Pussy opened the show, which marked the Foos' first Toronto date since 2018.

Queens of the Stone Age played an 11 track set including In My Head, No One Knows and A Song For The Dead, their first North American date since wrapping a European tour opening for System of a Down. Foo Fighters emerged through red smoke for a career spanning set that included just one song from their new album, Your Favorite Toy: Caught In The Echo.

The band dedicated a version of Aurora to late drummer Taylor Hawkins and The Teacher to Dave Grohl's late mother, Virginia. A stripped-down section on a smaller B-stage brought acoustic versions of Wheels and Big Me, plus a Grohl solo take on Under You, before the main set closed with Everlong and fireworks.

The Take Cover Tour follows the Foos' European run, which included two sold-out nights at Liverpool's Anfield stadium, and it continues at Detroit's Ford Field before wrapping in Las Vegas on September 26. Grohl has recalled first seeing Josh Homme play with Kyuss back in 1992, describing their decades-long friendship as one that "goes far beyond the sound we've made together."

Argentina is also on the band's radar this year: Foo Fighters will bring the Take Cover Tour to Argentina, MusicSuey has reported, and a separate Foo Fighters Argentina show is already set for February 2027. The story lands in our rock coverage and on the tour guide.
