Future teases his next album as The Real Me becomes his 12th number one

Less than a month after releasing "The Real Me," Future is already teasing another album. On Sunday, Aug. 2, the hip-hop artist posted to his Instagram Story thanking fans for pushing the record to No. 1: "Thanks for the #1 album," he wrote. "I'm always super grateful for the consistent love 1000% this next one for you."

"The Real Me," released July 10, is a 22-track project and Future's 10th solo studio album, his first solo release since 2024's "Mixtape Pluto." He first teased the album back in January by asking fans to help name it, then rolled out Spotify billboards reading "T.R.M." in June before revealing the full title alongside lead single "Radio" on June 15.

The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 131,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, notable in part because it did so with no featured guests. That made it Future's 12th number one album, moving him past Eminem, who has 11, and putting him one behind Jay-Z's record of 14; only Drake and Taylor Swift, tied at 15, and the Beatles, with 19, have more.

The momentum has cooled since: in its second week, "The Real Me" sold fewer units than Drake's "ICEMAN," an album that had already been out for two months by then, and reception to some of the record's genre detours has been mixed among fans. None of that appears to have slowed Future down; back in 2024 he released three albums within six months, and his latest Instagram tease suggests a similarly fast turnaround this time.

Future has kept a steady release pace even between albums, following Future puts out a video for song No Misery with the chart milestone and, now, the promise of more to come.
