Geese played their first Reading Festival set on August 28 and drew one of the wildest crowds of the weekend so far to The Gallery tent, a day ahead of their Leeds appearance.
They walked on against a montage of triumphant sports moments, among them a Wayne Rooney goal and Michael Smith's perfect leg against Michael van Gerwen at the 2023 World Darts Championship, plus a Mitchell and Webb sketch about watching the football.
Rain fell for most of the day, and Cameron Winter made a running joke of it, warning a crowd in ponchos and mud not to drink the water seeping through the tent. "It's not good for you," he added.
The set opened with "Husbands" from their most recent album Getting Killed and worked through fan favourites including "Half Real," "2122" and "Cobra" before closing on "Trinidad."
NME gave the performance four stars and reached for a preacher metaphor, describing Winter as a travelling preacher with a devoted congregation in the tent. The same outlet gave Getting Killed five stars and put it top of its list of the best albums of 2025.
Reading sits inside a UK run that includes two headline shows at London's Troxy on September 1 and 2 and the opening night of End Of The Road on September 3. It is logged on the festival tracker with the rest of the rock weekend, which also produced a Royal Blood secret set, while Winter's solo work reaches cinemas in a Carnegie Hall concert film in November.
