Kane Brown was playing the Sandia Casino Amphitheatre in Albuquerque, New Mexico on 12 August 2026 when he spotted an eight-year-old near the front of the pit holding a neon pink sign asking whether she could sing Thank God with him.
He brought her up. The crowd parted so Aubrey could reach the front, Brown helped her onto the stage, took her hand, led her to the centre and handed her a microphone. He let her introduce herself to the audience first.
He also made sure she knew whose part she was taking. His wife and duet partner Katelyn Brown was not at the show. "Kate, my wife, she's not here. So you are filling big shoes. You got it?" he said, and Aubrey nodded. He added that he was right there beside her.
She did not need much of that. She came in on cue, sang every word and danced through the song. When Brown asked whether she was ready to take Katelyn's solo section, she nodded again and delivered the entire verse on her own, with Brown standing back and getting the crowd behind her. They finished the chorus together.
Afterwards he made a point of the nerve rather than the singing. He asked her whether she knew how brave you have to be to sing in front of a crowd that size at eight years old, told her it was nice to meet her, and asked the audience to give it up for her again.
He signed her sign before sending her back into the crowd, and told her mother she had a brave little girl. Her mother, Christina, filmed the whole thing and posted it to TikTok, writing afterwards that they had dreamed of the moment and that her daughter had been singing Thank God since it came out in 2022.
