SJM Concerts, the promoter behind Oasis's 2025 Live '25 reunion tour, has been granted a licence from North Hertfordshire Council to host gigs at Knebworth. The licence permits events for up to 125,000 people and live music running until 3am, and took effect immediately with no end date.
Knebworth is the site of Oasis's legendary 1996 gigs, which sold out in under 24 hours and drew 250,000 fans across two nights amid reported demand from roughly 2.6 million people, about five per cent of the UK population at the time. This year marks the 30th anniversary of those shows.
The licence follows rumours that surfaced last month of Oasis planning another run of UK and European dates in 2027, including talk of a Manchester homecoming residency and a Knebworth return; related coverage from earlier this month includes Oasis footage from a 1994 Glasgow gig going public. Liam Gallagher has said the band will not tour again until 2027 at the earliest, while also teasing that more shows are on the way.
Nothing has been confirmed about new Oasis gigs at Knebworth. The rock band is set to release a new documentary, Don't Look Back In Anger, in cinemas and IMAX on September 11, before it streams later in 2026.
Liam Gallagher has sent mixed signals about the band's plans all year. In December he wrote on X, "We're not doing anything in 2026 sorry," before adding, "Bring on 2027... I mean 2026." Asked more recently about Oasis playing Rome, he said the band would "without a doubt, 100 per cent" perform there in 2027, though he has ruled out new music, telling fans: "I'm just not prepared for the criticism if it doesn't sell 100 million copies in the first hour."
