Little Grandad set January 22 for their debut album Speak Softly, Son

Little Grandad have set January 22, 2027 as the release date for their debut album, Speak Softly, Son. Clash reported the announcement, which arrives with a new single called "Tiny Feet".

The London band have spent the year playing shows around the country, including a series of headline dates in their home city. A run of singles has sketched out their sound in advance: refined songwriting with a gilded tone, carrying the scuzz of Brixton Windmill shows underneath.

Speak Softly, Son was recorded in Crouch End, London, with producer Kev Jones of Wunderhorse. The ten-track listing runs from "A Minute On The Lips" and "Sleepwalking" through "Sandalwood", "Nothing Days" and "Tiny Feet" to a "Naked In Bed" close, and the album is tracked on the release calendar.

DIY reported that the record arrives just over a year after the band formed, a fast turnaround for a group that has built its reputation on constant gigging. The quartet link Americana and slacker rock with British indie guitar music.

"Tiny Feet" opens with hushed guitar before growing in intensity, and comes with a video directed by Xander Lewis. It follows earlier previews including "Babe, We've Run Out Of Time" and "Unmasked".

The band play a UK headline tour this month, including a London date at the Scala on September 16. Their rise sits alongside the other rock, indie and country leaning debuts logged here, among them Alex Amor's last single before her first album and flowerovlove's Mini Skirt Warrior announcement.
