Madeon remixes Ninajirachi's song iPod Touch, his first remix in 14 years

Madeon has released a remix of Ninajirachi's "iPod Touch," his first official remix in 14 years. The last one was his 2012 rework of Martin Solveig's "The Night Out."

He did not approach it the way a remix is usually approached. EDM.com reports that he built the track out of sounds pulled from his earliest FL Studio projects, then wrote and added a verse drawn from his own memories. Remixers rarely put new vocal material into somebody else's record, and rarer still is going back to teenage sessions to find the raw parts.

That choice makes sense once you know what the song is about. "iPod Touch," from Ninajirachi's debut album I Love My Computer, is her account of finding a song online at 12 and guarding it like a secret, down to the cracked screen and the late nights teaching herself software.

The song she found was his. In a Bandcamp Daily feature last year she identified it as "Pop Culture," the 39-song mashup Madeon built in FL Studio as a teenager and posted in 2011, which means the remix closes a loop that started with a kid at a laptop on each end of it.

Ninajirachi's standing has kept climbing since. EDM.com named "iPod Touch" one of the best dance records of 2025 and put her in its Class of 2026.

The remix is logged on the release calendar with the rest of the electronic autumn, which has also brought an unreleased GRiZ and Tape B rework from Pretty Lights and the opening of Rochelle Jordan's five-EP remix series.
