Olivia Rodrigo has attached two very different partners to her current album cycle: Taco Bell and the Grammy Museum. One is a limited run drink, the other a museum exhibition, and both are built around her album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.
The drink is called You Seem Pretty Pink for a Baja Blast, a pink lemonade take on Mountain Dew Baja Blast. Rodrigo, who has called Baja Blast one of her favourite drinks, gets the first sip alongside fans on Aug. 29, when it debuts at Live Mas Cafes. It reaches Taco Bell nationwide on Sept. 24 for a limited run, with a Freeze version staying exclusive to the cafes.
The rollout also runs through the first Daisy Chain Fields festival on Aug. 29 in Irvine, California, where there is an activation with photo opportunities, limited edition merchandise and the drink itself. Taco Bell Rewards members get a Pretty Pink Picnic Kit as a Tuesday Drop on Sept. 29.
The Grammy Museum side goes further into how the work was made. Olivia Rodrigo: the cure unraveled, presented by American Express, opens Sept. 2 and runs through Feb. 22, 2027, showing the handmade sets, props and artwork built for the cure video, along with original storyboards and behind the scenes photography.
The video is a reasonable candidate for that treatment. Directed by Cat Solen and Jaime Gerin, it puts Rodrigo inside a handmade hospital where she experiments on felted human hearts, using miniatures, animatronic heart puppets and stop motion. Exhibits include her nurse costume, the miniature OR and the beating felt heart.
A launch event on Sept. 1 pairs Rodrigo in conversation with filmmaker and author Cameron Crowe, with a live performance and early access to the exhibition. An expanded version with more unseen artefacts is planned for early next year. She has been unusually active at the small end of the pop business too, having recently played a surprise Brooklyn gig and launched her own Bandcamp page, while her third album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart.
