Olivia Rodrigo played a surprise show at the Warsaw venue in Brooklyn's Greenpoint neighborhood on August 6, announcing the gig only that morning, NME reported on August 8. Roughly 1,000 $25 tickets, which had to be picked up at the venue's box office, sold out within two hours.
Rodrigo played a 15-song set dominated by material from her album You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love, giving four songs their first live outings: "My Way," "U + Me = 3," "Maggots For Brains" and "Expectations."
After the show, Rodrigo launched her first-ever Bandcamp page, offering a track called "Purple (Happy Version)," an alternate recording from the new album, for $1.50, with proceeds going to the Daisy Chain Fields Fund.
The fund supports Rodrigo's own festival, Daisy Chain Field, an all-women lineup running August 29 in Irvine, California, that includes Chappell Roan, Bikini Kill, Doechii, Garbage, Stevie Nicks and Karen O. Rodrigo said she pictured the event as girls "sitting underneath a tree, like, making little daisy chains or flower crowns or friendship bracelets," and has teased the possibility of singing "Landslide" as a duet with Nicks there. Organizers have also set stage times so no two acts overlap ahead of the date.
Rodrigo will also launch her Unraveled world tour next month, starting in North America and arriving at The O2 in London next April.
