Rochelle Jordan has released Disc 1, the first installment in a five-EP series reworking her album Through The Wall, which came out to wide acclaim last year. The British-Canadian artist enlisted electronic producers Honey Dijon, Ron Trent, Halogenix and her regular collaborator KLSH to reinvent tracks including "I'm Your Muse," "Get It Off" and the house standout "Ladida."
"I'm very excited to highlight all these magnificent artists," Jordan said of the first disc. Honey Dijon, who reworked "Ladida," described wanting to build a remix that honored the emotion already in Jordan's voice: "it's always about creating a moment of connection... something that feels soulful, powerful and liberating."
The series follows directly on from Rochelle Jordan opening the remix series with a Ron Trent take on "I'm Your Muse" earlier this month, and it's structured to keep rolling out steadily: a new remix every two weeks, with a full disc arriving monthly through December.
Through The Wall is out via Empire, and the electronic and R&B and soul crossover of the remix series gives Jordan's dance-leaning material room to stretch across five separate releases rather than one compilation.
