The Cure, Radiohead, Bad Omens, Paramore and Slipknot are among 22 songs confirmed so far for the soundtrack of Stage Tour, a spiritual successor to Guitar Hero. Developers revealed The Cure's Just Like Heaven, Radiohead's Just and Bad Omens' Just Pretend as a themed trio, alongside Paramore's For A Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic and Slipknot's Psychosocial.

Stage Tour comes from the original Guitar Hero developers, who revived their RedOctane studio after the series went on hiatus following 2015's Guitar Hero Live. The team has said the new game will not be Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, Guitar Freaks or Rock Band but something new, confirmed in June for consoles and PC later this year.

Other confirmed songs span rock, metal, alt-rock and pop-punk, including Red Hot Chili Peppers' Dani California, Weezer's Island In The Sun, Avril Lavigne's Bite Me, Ghost's Square Hammer and Mastodon's The Motherload. Paramore is also on this month's other big game soundtrack: Paramore, Avicii and the White Stripes turn up on the soundtrack to Madden NFL 27.

Slipknot's inclusion comes as the band works through a lineup question of its own; Sid Wilson calls himself a Slipknot member while co-hosting a DJ event covered that separately. Stage Tour will support a PC keyboard alongside guitar, bass, drum and vocal inputs, and will launch with purpose-built hardware.

"Nothing brings people together like a killer soundtrack, and Stage Tour is turning the volume all the way up," the RedOctane team said, describing the officially licensed setlist as built to "celebrate generations of music fans" across rock, metal, alt-rock and pop-punk. The confirmed list also includes BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy's RATATATA, Extreme's Get The Funk Out and Rise Against's Broken Dreams, Inc.
