The Danish producer Trentemøller has announced a self-titled album for release on November 13 through his own In My Room label, and shared its lead single, Terrified. Jonas Bjerre of the Danish band Mew sings on the track and directed its video.

Trentemøller said he built the song from an instrumental and sent it over with a handful of melody ideas that Bjerre then took further and added to. He described the lyric as being about the way anxious dreams rehearse disasters that may never happen.

He also called it the poppiest thing on the record. "In its original form it sounded a lot more shoegazey, but I wanted it to be crisper and clearer," he told Under the Radar, saying he reached for synths that sound almost like human voices.

The ten-track album carries other guests across it: Anika, Sune Rose Wagner of The Raveonettes, Midwife, Tan Cologne and Emma Acs. The running order opens with Swerve and closes with Skip, with Terrified in second place.

It follows Dreamweaver, which arrived in 2024, and 2022's Memoria. A European tour is booked for early next year, running from Berlin on February 27 through Munich, Bern, Paris, Brussels, Luxembourg, Amsterdam, London, Oslo and Gothenburg before finishing in Copenhagen on March 20.

The single lands on the release calendar alongside the album date. Trentemøller works in the same electronic territory as Djrum, who has just returned to Houndstooth with a new EP, and this is a busy stretch for Danish releases after Lowly announced a fourth album.
