Ella Langley has held the No. 1 spot on the MusicRow Top Songwriter Chart for a 15th consecutive week, MusicRow reported on August 3. Her own songs "Be Her," "Bottom Of Your Boots," "Choosin' Texas," "Dandelion" and "Loving Life Again," along with her duet with Morgan Wallen, "I Can't Love You Anymore," put her atop the chart.
The weekly MusicRow Top Songwriter Chart, a fixture of country music publishing, ranks writers using algorithms based on airplay, digital download sales and streaming activity, and MusicRow describes it as the only songwriter chart of its kind. Joybeth Taylor moved up to No. 2 on the strength of "Choosin' Texas," "Dandelion," "Empty Words" and her own share of "I Can't Love You Anymore," followed by Chase McGill at No. 3 with "Carry On," "Hands Up," "McArthur" and "Water At A Wedding." Austin Goodloe and Taylor Swift rounded out the top five.
The chart run comes during a busy stretch for Langley: her song "Be Her" was recently turned into a parody by Cledus T. Judd, and she teamed with Koe Wetzel on the song Jaded, our earlier report on the pairing. Her duet with Wallen also featured in his stadium tour recap.
